A Little Bit About Me...

I try to inspire my students with real life stories about France. Having spent several years there, I have had many cultural experiences that I bring into the classroom. Students enjoy hearing stories that they can relate to. It helps them appreciate the language and culture when they feel that they can identify with it from stories as opposed to reading a textbook.
I have taught French for over 3 yrs. During that time I would like to think that I made a difference in some students' lives. I started the French Club, French Honor Society, and the Big Bro/Sis-Lil Bro/Sis program. During my years teaching I taught many different levels of French from levels 1 through 4/5.

During the past sixteen years, I have taught a variety of subjects including Language Arts, Reading,Science,Spanish,and French.I have also taught middle school students that receive home instruction in all subject areas. Currently, I teach Spanish in Ventnor Schools. I received my education from the University of Pennsylvania and studied in Alicante, Spain. My French degree is from Penn State. In France, I worked in an adventure camp in the Ardeche. My recent undertaking has been teaching students to read through the Wilson Reading Program. Wilson is designed for students who have difficulty decoding words. It is a very successful program and can help all children read.

I have a passion for helping children! Each child learns in a different way, and as teachers it is our job to meet the student where they are. I am patient, and helpful, while still pushing the student to do their best. My goal is to help students develop a love for learning.
As a college graduate, I value the importance of education. I've earned a bachelor degree- a Bs in Biology where I've gained knowledge of science and math.
