As an Early Childhood Education major, I have had over 300 practicum hours of experience in different classroom settings ranging from preschool aged children to third grade. I have also had two months experience of student teaching in a kindergarten and preschool age classroom. I have had many experiences working with children in both daycare's, school settings and volunteer programs. In addition to these hands on experience, I have had over 100 credit hours of courses discussing, experiencing and reading about different techniques in how to teach children. I have also tutored students in the areas of elementary science, math, reading and writing. Children all learn different, which is why I believe in using direct instruction in guiding their learning. I will find a positive way to teach a student of any age. Although I always say I don't have the tolerance for negativity, I consider myself an expert when it comes to turning it into positive thinking. I also have extensive experience teaching students that are either hesitant or reluctant to put forth effort to learn.
