I have worked as a writing consultant and Florida Atlantic University since 2009. I adapt my teaching style to the personalities and learning styles of my clients. There is no universal way for everyone to learn. I have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and, as an anthropologist, am easily able to adapt my lessons to different cultural styles as well. I began tutoring my classmates when I was in kindergarten. Throughout elementary and high school, I frequently tutored classmates and students in other grades. This problem is abstract and challenging to some people. Thus, I rephrase it to, "If you have 7 quarters in your pocket, how much money do you have?" I started writing as a journalist at a small daily newspaper. I became interested in broadcast journalism and spent three years writing commercials and promos for a television station. I moved to South Florida after that, and couldn't find a broadcasting job, so I took a position at a marketing company, where I learned to write marketing copy. Four years later, I had an epiphany that I wanted to work helping the poor, and I took a position writing direct mail fundraising materials for a non-profit.
