My teaching style is prescriptive, student based. I teach based on how the particular student can grasp and understand what is being taught because students have their own methods and mental tools to open themselves to what is being taught, so that they learn. The first thing I do with any new student is identify his or her learning style so that I may incorporate those specific strategies into my lesson for an effective and personalized learning experience. Being that I have spent the majority of my teaching career in a high needs environment, I can honestly say that I teach to the student.
