My comments on tutoring Psychology : A favorite subject.

I started out tutoring elementary students in basic math and English grammar while I attended college part time in the 1980's. I continued tutoring young students and adults in the 1990's, tutoring Basic Math, Basic and Intermediate Algebra, Basic Geometry, English Composition, Speech, Study Skills and the Sciences. In addition, tips were given to enhance test-taking skills in hard-to-Ace subjects like Economics. From my time with English Club, I found there is very little advantage for either party when the teacher is draconian. Giving the student little rewards, plenty of encouragement, and being patient work much better. I like to try to understand the student on a personal level, so I can make him or her comfortable.
