When I substitute teach, there is not always a need to have to teach something but I am very happy when that times comes. I have had the opportunity to teach anywhere from 6th grade students learning about adverbs to high school students learning about trigonometric functions. Luckily, I have retained my knowledge in most areas and can help relate my experiences to the kids. I try to allow the whole group to participate and not just lecture the whole class. Students much be allowed to have a certain freedom to choose likes and strengths as well as weaknesses. We all have them!
