My comments on tutoring Psychology : A+ in highschool and college.

I am currently a student at the university of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where I am majoring in early childhood education with a minor in speech pathology. I am working full time as the head aftercare teacher at hickory valley Christian school where I work with elementary school children. I have much experience in teaching, I am also a current tutor with the Honors program, working with four students ranging from 5th grade to freshman in college. The second time through, we approach the problem with a little more weight placed on the student. The third time I ask the student to attempt the problem on his/her own, and I'm available for questions.

A Little Bit About Me...

Through my years in my last position I was able to witness firsthand how different teaching styles worked well for different children. The one common factor was that if I could make it fun and add an element of hands on type activities the lessons were retained better. I enjoyed the process of getting to know my students and finding what helped them to achieve success. As they gained this success in the classroom they also gained more confidence in themselves.
