A Little Bit About Me...

The method of teaching I prefer is maieutic, i.e., one which draws knowledge from the student, rather than attempts to place it in him/her from without. To me, the process of asking questions and allowing the student's curiosity and intelligence to reach conclusions is far more effective than one-sided lecturing. I am endlessly creative, coming up with myriad examples to illustrate concepts.
In 2006 I taught graphic design topics at Westwood College. In 2007 I taught the same subject at The Creative Circus (roughly equivalent to an MBA program for designers, writers, photographers, and art directors). In 2008 I taught in the design department for Georgia State University. This summer I traveled to a remote region in India to teach English. I have a played piano for over 25 years. Completed my Minor in Piano Performance at Jacksonville State University. Currently performing gigs as keyboardist in Classic Rock cover band. I am teaching my daughter piano, and have 2 years experience training in both retail sales and customer service.
