A Little Bit About Me...

I really like to have the student interact and do problems with me. I like to watch how their mind works on the problems. I also like to get a feel for how the student learns and try to shape my lessons around that.
I have tutored Math and Chemistry in both a high school and university level. In high school, I tutored Algebra I and II, trigonometry, Calculus, and Statistics. At the university level I have tutored Calculus I, II, and III. I have a great mathematical background and my major in college is Mathematics with a teaching concentration. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been involved with youth for a long time as scoutmaster and as coach in recreational soccer. I enjoy working with children, especially if they are willing to learn and improve their skills and knowledge. I assess the student's grasp on the subject and determine where assistance is needed. Using various means I then help the student to get the knowledge needed to achieve academic success.
As a student in high school, I became fascinated with Chemistry and went on to earn a BS in Chemistry. The position I landed after school dealt with additives in rubber and plastics, so eventually I went on to earn a MS degree in Polymer Science. This helped me to land a better position. A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and I like to teach using examples. I like to present the material in a variety of ways with the knowledge that some students are visual learners and some benefit more from verbal examples. I would provide everyday examples and relate the problems to everyday situations. I will also provide an interactive and engaging teaching style because I believe that if the student can explain the problem to me in their own words I can tell if they are understanding the material and not just learning to replicate a solution.
