My comments on tutoring English ESOL : Certified teacher in the methodology of second language acquisition.

I have twenty years of educational experience teaching Spanish on the secondary level, and other fourteen as an adjunct Spanish instructor for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Also during this time, I have the opportunity to work as an ELL (English Language Learner) coordinator for local school district on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
I sincerely believe my experience and knowledge will have a positive impact and influence in supporting and assisting students with listening, reading, writing, and speaking the Spanish language. My instructional techniques are individualized to meet the specific skills and concepts of the student. In addition, all grammatical skills and concepts are taught and explained in correspondence to the English language so the students can associate and completely understand the rational behind the use and structure of the Spanish language.

Following the birth of my third child, I taught at her pre-school and caught the teaching "bug". I then completed a graduate program in Elementary Education, taught for one year in the public school system in Florida and then taught for one year in Alabama. I have the ability to help children struggling in reading to make great strides and as a result, gain the self-confidence to do well in school. I attended Cardiff University where I majored in English studies and Linguistics and have been teaching courses in linguistics, language development and grammar at the college level for 15 years. I currently teach in a speech pathology department and am familiar with communication disorders that lead to literacy and learning problems. I have published widely.
