As a fresh graduate I feel the need to be a part of academia. Tutoring is the perfect opportunity for me to strengthen my abilities while simultaneously helping students achieve success. My goal is to be a college professor and tutoring is the first stepping stone. Being able to help students reach their full potential is my passion and my goal in life.
English and education have been a passion of mine for my entire life. My undergraduate experience at the University of Minnesota Morris exacerbated this characteristic. I am a graduate of St. John's University with a major in Spanish. Before attending college, I lived for a year in Venezuela, learning to perfect my spoken Spanish. While in college, I perfected my written Spanish through my degree and a semester living in Guatemala. I currently work as a Spanish interpreter and hold a liscense by the Minnesota State Court Interpreter Program.
I am a firm believer that if a student really wants to learn, and accepts a challenge, they can learn a language faster in a few months than most people can over the course of an entire school career. A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching because I truly enjoy seeing the light come on when a student gets it. I have had some excellent teachers in my life and have used their techniques to help students I tutor. I understand there is not one specific way to teach a subject and the key is asking questions to find out what will help a particular student. I find it helpful to use processes students are familiar with and expand upon that knowledge. I am a firm believer in showing why something works the way it does, not just showing the solution.
