Drawing is one of my top subjects! I was a student with the Art Instruction Schools in 2011, and maintained and completed the course with an A average in 2013. Though I am currently a self-taught student developing my traditional art skills, I am able to teach students in basic cartooning anatomy, and color theory.

I have been developing my drawing skills since 2004, and I have been drawing ever since. The most experience that I have had in the past with tutoring was sharing tips with my friends at school about how to draw a certain character like Sonic the Hedgehog, but I now have a better understanding, thanks to MY trainers, about how to utilize the skills I've developed over the years.
When I was learning how to draw, I started out copying drawings of characters that I saw in books and TV and used what I saw to draw my own characters soon after. That was "fine" but I realized over time that it was not enough to simply "see" something drawn a type of way, but that I needed to understand "why" it was drawn that way. I spent one year as a day to day substitute teacher working all over York County in various special education classrooms. My second year was spent as a long term substitute at an alternative high school for boys where I taught all subjects. My third year I started teaching Specialized Preschool and did this for many years until I retired last year. My students had many exceptionalities. I had typical students visit my classroom every week to read to my students. I did leave Lincoln Intermediate Unit #12 one year to teach in Baltimore, Maryland. Individualized learning/teaching for optimal comprehension

I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I feel that young students learn best when they can physically learn, such as through blocks/puzzles/interactive learning devices and other similar approaches. I try to let the student use their hands as much as I can to aid in their learning process. For older students such as my high school students or their college counterparts I use more direct audial teaching and visual teaching styles. A 30+ year career in the field of Graphics and Design that included a directorship managing several graphics and reproduction departments. A Little Bit About Me...

I am hard working, patient and loyal. I gave the few children I have cared for and worked with a lot of wiggle room in order to express themselves. I feel like the less regulations and rules on an art assignment the more playful and creative the individual will be. you have to care about what you are doing before anyone else will.
I love children. While attending high school and college I babysat several children from four months old up to 13 years old. During My senior year of high school I was a teachers aid for A freshman level art class and would often work one on one with students who had questions or needed some extra help.
