I won two national scholastic writing awards for my writing. I also studied at Rice University which is a highly selective university in Houston Texas. I majored in sociology and also took many intensive English classes. While a student at Rice, I tutored several of my peers in both sociology and english. A Little Bit About Me...

As a college graduate, I was very much driven to achieve a high level of education. I studied different types of literature from women's, middle eastern, and african american as well. I also have four years of speaking spanish and learning the offical lanuage in college and very good at conversational spanish as well. I have spent two years tutoring children in english grammar, basic algebra, and sentence structure, as well as spanish.
I love to teach young children. I also love to teach growing adults as well and think its best for a relaxing teaching style. I use games and rhymes to help the children stay focus and have fun while tutoring.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BA in Theatre Arts, a minor in Dance, and have received a Montessori Certification from NAMC. However, I learned the fundamentals of teaching (being on time, prepared, patient, and encouraging) from my first job as a dance teacher while I was still in high school. After University, I taught ESL in Korea for three years, as well as developed curriculum for a set of nationwide schools. In addition to that, I tutored students privately outside of the classroom. Throughout my teaching experience, I interacted with a wide range of students with varying abilities. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in letting the child set the pace when it comes to private tutoring. I would listen to child to learn what truly interests them and inspires them. I would then use this is my lessons so they enjoy the learning process. Children enjoy learning anything when it is taught in the appropriate way. I learned this very quickly teaching English to French elementary age students.
I know what it takes to teach and learn a foreign language because I am fluent in French. I was inspired by watching the great teachers that I had in high school and college. I have taught English as a second language, so I have classroom experience to add to my general knowledge of the language and culture.
