A Little Bit About Me...

In obtaining my master's degree in communication at the Elliott School of Communication at Wichita State University, I have acquired the necessitated skills for this position. I was a graduate teaching assistant and taught interpersonal communication and public speaking. I was also hired by the Communication Upward Bound program to teach English literature to high school students.
I believe every person has her or his own learning style. The best way to get a child to understand her or his own potential is to get to know each individual student. It takes a little more time, but making sure each student knows I care about their individual success has enabled me to teach those who never thought they would be able to speak in public to do so. Since I have tutored for several years, I've found that every person learns slightly differently. The key to how I teach is to figure out how that person best learns. There is no such thing as a stupid person, just one who hasn't been taught in a way that they can understand yet. The past four years, I have had experience with a diverse population of students working in the Wichita Public School District. In the classroom, I teach and coach students on all subjects, including: Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, P.E. and Computer Technology.
