I trained at four different dance studios in Knoxville for fifteen years. I am a former member of the Bearden High School Dance Team. I danced competitively at state level and national level competitions. I danced in Disney World's Thanksgiving Parade, and I have been on ESPN twice for UDA dance competitions. I trained for three years with the University of Temnessee's dance team, and I have gone to national dance workshops. I am trained in ballet, jazz, Pom, and hip hop; however, I prefer to teach and perform jazz.

Working with different age groups, have shown me that every child is their own individual. I get to know the children I work with to understand the best approach to take with them. I can work in small groups, large groups, or individual. Some children are shy and may work better alone. It takes patience to teach and I am blessed to have that gift. I was determined to be the first to attend and graduate from college out of a big family. I have learned different aspects of Psychology to apply to everyday life. In the last 10 years, I have been working with troubled teens to help them get their lives back on track. I have also done some tutoring in between.

I enjoy seeing children learn new things. I know that every child learns differently. It is important to get to know the children that you are teaching and figure out what teaching technique fits there needs. I feel like I do an excellent job of portraying what I am trying to teach. I have always loved children. Children are precious and all have very unique learning techniques. When I was a senior at Maryville High School, I taught Spanish to first graders. I have experienced various types of teaching styles while in school. I have learned a long the way every student is different and learns in a different way. In high school and all even through college math had always been my hardest subject. My second year in college I had a math professor that had a different approach to teaching math and for the first time in my life I finally understood math! After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, I spent 8 months working at a wilderness therapy program. At this school I taught students life skills in a wilderness setting. After leaving this school, I spent the summer teaching art at a small summer camp. This past year I worked at a boarding school, located in Western North Carolina. At this school I worked with 15 and 16 year olds, tutoring and helping them with their school work and teaching week-end and extracurricular activities. This past fall I worked at a non-profit organization. I worked at an Anne Frank/Holocaust exhibit giving tours to 6th-12th grade students. I also worked for two other programs where I went into elementary and middle schools and taught students diversity and tolerance through the venue of religious and cultural differences. I have worked with different levels of mental health and emotional maturity for several years. I have spent much of my spare time working within the community at youth centers, soup kitchens and veteran administration homes.
