Experience Summary
I first became passionate about teaching while I was teaching English in China. I received a BS in Bible with a minor in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), which has provided me with an understanding of linguistics, teaching methods, grammar, and language acquisition. I also have eleven months experience teaching English in Thailand. While teaching there, I also studied Thai in a Thai language school. During the past six years I have tutored students in English, grammar, reading, writing, history, and the arts.
Teaching Style
I believe learning should be fun. In my experience I have found that if a student has fun and laughs during a lesson, he/she will remember the contents of the lesson more. I strive to create memorable experiences for my students. I am also patient teacher. Ideally, my students learn by investigating and drawing their own conclusions. I will serve as a guide and provide hints and correct answers. My goal is that the passion I have for learning and for the subjects I teach will ignite a passion in my students.
