I enjoy teaching and creating interest in the subject that is being taught. I have learned from experiance that the more interested the students become in the subject, the better they learn. I have found that many students have a psychological barrier when it comes to mathematics and the sciences. Once that barrier is brought down, the students interest in the subject starts to perk, and it's all uphill from there. I enjoy learning and try to pass along some of my enthusiasm to my students. I will work with the student to find the best methods for us to approach the material so he or she will have the greatest success. I believe that creating a structure assists in the learning process, but the structure may be different for different people. Since I was a young girl, the English language has been as important to me as breathing. I have tutored elementary school children thru the S.M.A.R.T. program as well as through classroom assistance programs. I am currently working on completing my Associate of Science degree in English and expect to have my degree in June 2010. I love watching the face of a child when they realize that they have mastered a word that previously eluded them.
