In addition I performed laboratory research at the College of William and Mary for a thesis and have 2 years of experience tutoring in Elementary Spanish, Computer Science, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry.

I love teaching high school students and I realize that each student learns in a different style. While some find it easy to learn in the classroom setting, many need individual attention which is where tutors come in. Teachers simply cannot give each student the individual attention that they might need. Also, teachers need to be hands on in their delivery. Too many teachers simply lecture, which I have found very few students that effective learn by having a lecturing teacher.
During Grad School I tutored high school math and science students as well as college freshman in Chemistry. After Grad School I have worked as a youth pastor and during this time i have tutored numerous students from my youth group in mathematics and science as well.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from high school with honors from a school that never pushed the effectiveness of attending college to students. I maintained my focus and attended Virginia State University in the fall of 2006. My mother was my inspiration, so much that I ventured towards science as my field of study. I chose to be a chemist, allowing myself to go above and beyond the norm. I succeeded as I came upon the completion of my undergraduate studies and obtaining a BS in Chemistry. A Little Bit About Me...

I work well as a one on one special education aide because my attention is soley on the activities and education of my students. I am a laid back worker, and extremely patient because I find that if I allow myself to get out of shape, then I am not an effective teacher and aide, and my students will see this. I strive to be a good role model to them all, even when I may be frustrated but I find constructive ways of venting such as listening to music during class quiet times and taking walks with my students during activity breaks and while they are in PE.
I have worked for one school year as a substitute for both Hanover County and Louisa County, I am Currently employed by Hanover County Public Schools as a teaching assistant while continuing my work on my graduate work.
