I implement a multi-sensory and multi-disciplinary approach to Spanish. I use several different methods of teaching depending on the various needs of the student.
I am certified K through 12th grade. I have been teaching Spanish for over 20 years in a public school setting. I have taught all levels of Spanish throughout my 23 year teachig career. I believe that different teaching styles help different students. A method of both lecture and active learning can be effective for the widest range of students. This allows the students to get a brief introduction to the day’s material before they work in groups on questions about the material. I feel that student’s can learn best from each other because they are all at the same level. If a group is unsure of an answer they can always ask the teacher or look it up in a book. Finally, active learning demands that the students find the answers instead of being told them. This will benefit them greatly once they join the work force.
