Hello. I have been teaching for 23 years and tutoring in Spanish and other subjects for more than 10 years. I have worked both in private and public schools, and I am currently a public high school Spanish and ACT English and Reading teacher. Along with offering my in-school students extra help, I have tutored and taught private lessons to students ranging from Pre-K to adults. I have over 18 years helping students academically. In the Jackson Public School District I initiated an after school tutorial program to help student who were falling behind in reading math and language arts. As the Accelerated Reading Assistant in the library I was able to use the program to help students to progressively become fluent readers. Earned Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education from University of Memphis in 1991. Taught in preschool from 1992 until 1993 in Concord, CA. Taught my own children from Kindergarten through 12th grade. My teaching style includes more than one style because different children learn in different ways. For example, a child may learn by doing(I would use the demonstration-performance method). Another may be an auditory learner where I would use the lecture method, on a child's age level of course.
