Even before attaining my degree in English from Jacksonville State University I was passionate about all forms of teaching. I have over a year of experience tutoring college students at Jacksonville State University's Academic Center for Excellence and immediately following that nearly another year of experience tutoring dyslexic youths at the Dyslexia Clinic in Oxford, AL. As a student at Northeast, I earned a A.S. in Industrial Electronics, as well as, a Long Certificate in Electronics. I believe in interactive learning. Students learn best when they are in a safe environment, which I can provide. A Little Bit About Me...

I think educators must take into account the different ways in which students learn. For instance, I've noticed that math students may have difficulty adding and subtracting fractions, but have no trouble whatsoever when I ask about dimes and quarters. If an instructor can build a bridge between new material and material the student has already mastered, the student's retention can significantly improve. By getting to know the interests and knowledge of each, I hope to discover bridges that will make learning an exciting and enjoyable process.

Receiving a BS in Mathematics Education has helped my mind to expand mathematically and in my teaching methods. I believe I was adequately prepared to teach through my education and my first couple years teaching. I have also tutored in math, history, spanish, and computers to all ages through colleges and independent tutoring.
I have always had a love for teaching, tutoring, and mentoring people of all ages.
