I have worked with children and youth pre-school - 12th grade since 1982. I have done some literacy instruction with adults. I have been recognized as an outstanding mentor to disadvantaged youth. I have written and published articles, and currently am finishing a novel.I have worked one-on-one with autistic children, grades K-5, and am certified in exceptional education and elementary K-6 in Florida. A Little Bit About Me...

As a student at Rollins College, I had the opportunity to serve as a peer mentor to a group of first-year students. I also worked in the writing center and as an editor for a literary journal. My studies in anthropology and experience writing an honors thesis on homelessness taught me to think critically and holistically. I have worked as a summer camp counselor for teenagers (June- August 2008 and 2009) and then as co-director of the camp (2010), a role in which I worked with campers ages six to seventeen. These experiences, combined with my graduate study at Goddard College, have given me a strong foundation in the social sciences, creative writing, grammar, editing, and research skills.

I was brought up by both of my parents, which I am lucky to say they are both teachers. After I was born my mother stayed a housewife, but my father kept on studying, and teaching at many levels. He has now a PhD, and I am following in his footsteps, not quite same specialties but similar. Throught my working career of over 19 years, I have learned many skills and trades. But the one I have truly loved is learning new things continuosly. I am most comfortable training and tutoring in areas of language, business, basic math, computer skills and knowledge are my forte.
