Do math and you can do anything!!

Hello, my name is Jennifer Garcia and I am currently in the final stage of becoming a certified elementary teacher. My experience began in high school when I offered my tutoring services to elementary children. The student was in grade school and I assisted in math for a period of 3 months. Other opportunities arrived in college. I was a TA for two years for one of my professors. When I finished my B.S. I worked part time with an online company called tutorjam where I tutored five days a week, 2-3 students a day. The subjects I focused on was math and reading ranging from grades 1-8. My comments on tutoring Algebra : This might be the course I have the most fun with!

Very much based on working with what the student knows. I tend to start by having them explain to me what they are doing and what they think. I then provide some guidance and walk through a sample problem with them. I ask that they try another problem like it on their own and ask questions to prompt them as they work.
I started tutoring in high school for extra credit. I have primarily tutored in mathematics and general chemistry! I tutored a girl in Algebra 1 for a year, helped my best friend and her Mom with college mathematics, and worked through college algebra with my husband. In college I was a teachers assistant for general chemistry 1 and tutored in quantitative chemical analysis. Since then I have tutored a gentlemen for the math portion of his GED. Math and Science Tutoring

In terms of online tutoring. I make use of a headset microphone and a touch tablet. As well as many free online applications, such as a whiteboard, Skype, and educational resources.
