Experienced ESL Instructor/Tutor

My teaching style is a mix of both teacher and student centered. There are times where it is important to give students the information they need as well as examples. Also, it is just as equally important to facilitate students initiating their own learning as this best helps with retaining and demonstrates true comprehension.
I have 10 years experience teaching ESL in various settings. Primarily my experience has been in K-12 public schools. However, I have experience in teaching adults and in tutoring adults, as well. My students have varied to professionals seeking to improve English to newly arrived immigrants needing to learn an entire new language. I have had experience with a vast number of ethnicities and languages as well as varied education levels.

A Little Bit About Me...

Through encouragement and with a lot of creative hands on writing experience, I allow the pupil to make the mistakes they normally would and then through subject attention we progress through the necessary adjustments to form a writer who excels and enjoys the field.
Current college student at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Received 5s (the best score) on both AP writing assessments while in high school. Have never received a grade lower than an A in any writing related class during my academic career. I have a knack for teaching and I tutor my peers and friends in college writing courses. I enjoy being around children and find it easy to teach them the necessary processes to succeed after my services are done. I am also very proficient in the French language, as my mother is from Belgium and I took French 1 through AP in high school.
