More About This Tutor...

I have learned that teaching is the activity of educating or instructing. It is the process of imparting knowledge or skill. It's about not only motivating students to learn, but teaching them how to learn, and doing so in a manner that is relevant, meaningful, and memorable. Teaching is about caring for your craft, having a passion for it, and conveying that passion to everyone, most importantly to your students. A teacher is a person, who educates others. A Good teacher will listen, question, is responsive and remembers that each student and each class is different.

A Little Bit About Me...

I was born into a Christian farm family in Hartford, Alabama, in 1952. After earning a B. S. in Special Education from the University of Alabama and a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling from Tennessee Technological University, I taught special education classes at North Middle School in Lenoir City, Tennessee, for nine years before moving back home to take care of my parents. This is my 12th year at Enterprise High School and I am very fortunate to be the teacher of the multi-needs Special Education classroom there. I am also very honored to be chosen by my peers this year as the Enterprise High School Teacher of the Year. I have no plans to retire.
All through my career my focus has been to teach to the needs of the individual student. I believe that learning is fun. I believe that all students can learn, given the proper encouragement. I have fun when I teac ... read more
