As a recent fall 2009 graduate, it is my goal to become an educator and help other students learn the concepts behind mathematics. I want students to understand that math is not a scary subject and that you can enjoy this field area. In the past, I have tutored/volunteered in the following areas of mathematics: Basic math. College Algebra, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Discrete math, and Pre-Calculus. I am always helping someone on the side. Whether it is one question or an entire assignment, it is my pleasure to share my intellect with someone else.
I feel that everyone has the potential to learn and retain the materials that are presented to them in the schools. Sometimes you just need someone to further explain the topic at hand. A Little Bit About Me...

I own my own science consulting firm and like to dedicate a certain percentage of my time to education and public outreach projects including teaching, mentoring, and tutoring. I have taught high school and college students on and off since 1986 and have had several students go on to VERY successful careers, perhaps one of the best ways to evaluate ones ability as a teacher. My most recent success (2006-07) was a 7th grade C and B student who had straight A's after only two months of working together and finished 7th grade with straight A's. Her confidence level increased dramatically (as noted by her family and friends) and she now has set her sights on Harvard as a real possibility someday.
