I believe each child learns in their own way. Therefore, differentiated instructional strategies are important in helping each child become as successful as possible. It is important for children to feel comfortable and motivated to learn. There is no better feeling than knowing you a part of a child's success.
I am currently in my last semester of my Masters program at St. John’s University and will have my New York State Initial certification in K-6 by May 2011.As a student teacher in the first and fourth grade classrooms, I have been able to utilize and build upon the courses taken as part of my education. I was able to design and implement my own lesson plans, as well as modify to meet the needs of all students. Graduated from Seton Hall University, located in South Orange, NJ with a bachelor's degree in biology. Studied science for 5 years in college with an emphasis on medical courses to eventually pursue a degree as a physician assistant. Strong background in math (algebra, calculus, statistics) and sciences (biology and chemistry). Also, open to tutor in english, economics, electives, etc. Experience includes tutoring in math and science for West Haven High School (2000-2004) and tutor through the Biology Society at Seton Hall Univ (2005-2009).
