I work as a math teacher at Tupelo Christian Preparatory School. While in college I tutored some of my peers. During my student teaching I was able to work one-on-one with many students in the classroom and I understand the different types of learning styles of students. Also during my student teaching I tutored high school students in math in the after school program and tutored privately for some other students whose parents wanted me to help their child. I believe children learn by experiences and examples. Making it relevant and interesting makes them to want to learn. They begin to understand the purpose for learning the material. Children have different learning styles and every child doesn't learn at the same rate. Teachers must realize this when planning lessons.
