Experience Summary
I have an associates degree in Computer Science/Engineering and a bachelor's in Mathematics Education with a minor in Psychology. I have over 25 years teaching/tutoring/test prep experience. I have also authored ACT test items and units for various textbook companies. I design, and deliver workshops for teachers across the state of Mississippi as a teacher/consultant for the National Writing Project. Since the state of Mississippi implemented exit exams for various subjects in 1999, I have been conducting Subject Area Test Preparation for my Algebra I students and have a 100% pass rate among regular education students.
Teaching Style
I love mathematics but I love people even more. I believe everyone can learn, but each of us in different ways. I am available to help you or your child find academic success. I am patient, easy going, and considerate. My goal is to provide the best education possible. I am a firm believer in teaching through discovery, hands-on approach, and adequate practice on essential skills. I believe everyone can meet their potential if they are given the appropriate surroundings and learning experiences. A few good educators can make a world of difference in one's education. I strive to make a difference in all of my students' lives.
