Multiple years of accounting. Currently Pursuing CPA and Master's in Accounting. By working with elementary students I have exhibited that I am capable of vast patience, so I am willing to work as long as the student would require. I teach every student different, so my initial goal would be to learn about the student and find out their favorite methods of instruction. I first want to start out by saying that I have a passion for what I do. I have over seven years of experience as a tutor and mentor and it has been a very rewarding experience. I am currently a Secondary/Special Education Graduate student and am enjoying the process of learning more about the field. I received a BBA in Accounting and History in 2009, so I also have a background in Business. I will always be glad and willing to tutor in any class dealing with Business as well. I consider myself a very patient tutor, which I think is essential to the process. That said, I usually offer the student a few options in which to learn the material. I then let them decide which option makes the most sense to them. While working at Thornhill Education Center, I had the opportunity to work with students and help teach GED classes. My main focus was math. I also had the opportunity to teach a level 1 accounting class for community education. I don't think I have really developed a "unique style" by only teaching a year or so. I am a very patient person and I really like to see the "sparkle" in a students eye, when they truly understand something for the 1st time. During my time at Miami, I was employed by the University as a Supplemental Instructor (SI). As an SI, I provided regularly scheduled, out-of-class sessions in a beginning accounting class and realized that I had the ability to help others learn. I realized that all students can learn, but that some are not getting the individual attention that they require in the typical classroom setting. I am patient, easy going and considerate, and I enjoy working with students who truly have the desire to learn. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and a Masters degree in Accounting from Miami University, I began working full-time for a local certified public accounting firm. While working I continued studying and earned my license to practice public accounting in April, 2010 by passing all parts of the CPA exam.

I tutored my peers in math while earning my BBA in finance, and taking elective classes in accounting and economics.
