Hello! I admire all things in the visual arts field and most importantly educating those that are interested or have the desire to enhance their artistic creativity. I am a recent graduate from the VCU arts program, the number one public arts school in the nation. During my time there, as well as after graduation, I have taught a variety of art class to mostly younger age children and early adolescence. My teaching style varies based on the child that I am working with that time. I have worked with children with all different kinds of learning styles, so I have learned over the years that you have to be flexible and mindful of the specific child that you are working with. Through my experience I have learned to be more patient, understanding and fair when I am working with the children as well as when I am grading their assignments. During the time that I worked with tutoring companies, I was able to tutor students at their homes as well as on the weekends in a school based setting. These two working environments allowed me to have a sense of diversity in the styles of which I taught the children.

A Little Bit About Me...

Over the last 12 years I have taught children in most settings. I also have experience tutoring adults in math. My current job is working with children who have cognitive disabilities and supporting their families. I graduated from Prince George's Community college with an Associate's degree and from Bowie State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I am currently enrolled in a Master's program for counseling.
Dedicated, patient, caring and knowledgeable are all the characteristcs that I would want in a tutor. Those are definitely characteristics that describe me. I have worked with children for the past 12 years in settings from private, public and special needs population. I enjoy working with children and teaching. I believe in providing a positive and comfortable setting for children to learn and in that setting students can reach their full potential.
