A Little Bit About Me...

I have experience working with students from Kindergarten through adult education. My earliest teaching experience was with primary grade children (K-2) in an inner-city school district. I taught basic skills to incarcerated men in a NJ Correctional Facility. I have experience working with first generation college students in need of remedial coursework before advancing to college level courses. I'm currently working (part-time) teaching GED writing and math, 2 evenings a week.
I combine a variety of teaching styles to accommodate student's learning style. When it comes to GED instruction, I would say that math is my strong suit. I always try to find examples of how certain skills could be applied to real life experiences.

I love learning to be a student and to teach.

I have taught in both high school the last 7 years and college for 2 years teaching reading and writing. I have taught English in the summers 2007-2010 to International Students. All the students do three projects and with mp4 movies have been tape recorded and uploaded to my blog. Every child can learn, just not in the same way!

I am an Elementary school teacher for 6 years. I have my BA in Psychology, from Rutgers University, and hold my teaching certificate for Elementary K-6 and Special Education K-12.
