Learn from a Doctor: Writing, Test Prep, Classical Languages

Each student has different needs and different learning styles. When I meet a student, I try to adapt to the each student's distinctive learning style. More generally, I engage students with the material by asking lots of questions designed to open up new ways of perceiving the material. Where possible, I try to make learning a multisensory experience, incorporating visualization of data, reading written work aloud, and listening for clues to the solution of a problem.

A Little Bit About Me...

I like working with high school students with a desire to learn. As a senior member of the Civil Air Patrol, working with the cadets was a pleasure. Their abilities ranged from marginal to excellent, but every cadet had a strong desire to learn and excel in every thing they did in Civil Air Patrol. We had several cadets go the military academies and become excellent officers and pilots.
Thirty five years experience in Information Technology with positions ranging from Programmer/Analyst to Consultant to Manager. Five years engineering experience in Flight Test, Aircraft Stability and Flight Controls, and Aircraft Structures.
