A Little Bit About Me...

I was classically trained in piano but teach a combination of music reading and ear training. I can also teach you how to play by chord charts and lead sheets for band/worship music. My approach to teaching Spanish involves a combination of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

I studied abroad in Mexico and love studying the Spanish language and culture. I have tutored students of varying skill levels with their Spanish courses. I also have over 20 years of experience playing the piano and over 10 years of experience playing in the church setting. After receiving my degree at Northwest College in Kirkland (now University), I worked, enhanced my music skills, married and had children. From 1995-1996 I obtained my TESL certificate at Edmonds Community College. I tutored two middle school students from Korea for one year. Then I taught 9th grade English to 15 international students at Snohomish County Christian School for one year. I have also had the pleasure of voluntarily teaching 14 students English from Brazil for 18 months recently.
My experience of teaching the families from Brazil was very enjoyable. One high school student said that she learned more at our once a week class than she learned at her daily class in school.
