I have always been interested and active in the education field. I enjoy working individually with students, more so than in a classroom setting. Although, I have never been in charge of my own class room I consider my teaching style energetic. I would say that it is a little more toward laid back. Being over 6" tall, stocky, pushing hard, being an ogre, hard-nosed, that isn't going to work for me. People have a tendency to be a bit intimidated and fearful because of my size. I will use it to my advantage if it is necessary, or becomes necessary, but I've found being a little more quiet, reserved and coaxing the student to initiate the discussion is a little better. Ask leading questions, adjust and proceed, based on their response.

As a tutor, I was encouraging, supportive and sensitive to my students' feelings. For example, I normally met my students at the library. One student kept missing his initial session.
