I am passionate when it comes to teaching. I conduct my lessons with the understanding that every child is an individual. Therefore, they each have their own learning pace and preferences. The first tutoring session, I set aside, to learn more about the child and to conduct an assessment which will help me in determining that child's learning patterns. In addition, I believe in meeting with the parents weekly to discuss their child's progress and to offer advice on how they can help aid their child in their academic success. I am experienced in teaching. I have worked within the public school systems as a substitute teacher and as a permanent employee. In addition, I have taught GED classes to adults; and tutored elementary and high school students. I am nearly completed with my Master of Science degree, and I have an earned Bachelor of Science degree from Bellevue University.

As a tutor, my job is to take students from where they are to where they need to be. I can do this successfully for several reasons. First, I am patient. Often student frustration stems from classes proceeding too fast, and teachers lacking time to help slower learners. By patiently working with a student, I can teach at a pace that works best for them, overcoming much discouragement that comes from falling behind. Second, I am very flexible in my teaching methods.
