I am experienced in teaching. I have worked within the public school systems as a substitute teacher and as a permanent employee. In addition, I have taught GED classes to adults; and tutored elementary and high school students. I am nearly completed with my Master of Science degree, and I have an earned Bachelor of Science degree from Bellevue University.
I am passionate when it comes to teaching. I conduct my lessons with the understanding that every child is an individual. Therefore, they each have their own learning pace and preferences. The first tutoring session, I set aside, to learn more about the child and to conduct an assessment which will help me in determining that child's learning patterns. A Little Bit About Me...

As a mother of three teenagers with distinctly different personalities and learning styles, I approach teaching in customized ways that help them open up rather than close down when faced with academic obstacles. I have refined that approach when working with other students, as well. I believe a positive attitude is contagious, so I initiate conversations which enable the student to express whatever knowledge they already have in a given subject. Then we build upon that base of understanding, filling in gaps with new knowledge, eventually reaching higher levels of comprehension and mastery of the subject.
