As an engineering student, I scored A's in 4 Quarters of Calculus, 3 Quarters of Engineering Physics and 1 Quarter each of: Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Static and Dynamics. Throughout college, I often tutored other classmates in math, physics, and statics and dynamics to which they and other upper-classmen would marvel. "wow, you really understand this don't you?". I received my B.S. in physics and went on to work at a Community College tutoring math. I enjoyed this work immensely and received excellent reviews from the students. While working at the college I also tutored middle school and high school students privately. In High School I took a class on Society and the Child which involved tutoring english and math two days a week for a fourth grade class. I plan on returning to school in 2010 to obtain a Masters in Secondary Educaton, with my focus on Math and Science Education.
I have found that there is nothing so rewarding as that moment when a subject 'clicks' for a student. By staying positive and adaptive I believe it is possible to guide students to finding solutions on their own. In high school I was able to tutor students in all subjects ranging from English to Math to Musical Studies. Furthering my education at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX really opened my eyes and mind to wider ranges of educational foundations. As a double major in Communication and Classical Studies, I was able to get a well rounded education in all subjects. I feel that I am also skilled in math and got a minor in Art History. I have always enjoyed tutoring students and seeing them "get" the subjects we are touching on.
