My comments on tutoring Reading : I'm a great speed reader with full comprehension of what I read, but I believe that even those who don't blaze through pages can learn how to pick up important details and their pace by learning how to focus on the material.

I'm a recent college graduate from NC State, with a degree in Creative Writing. However, the CW course instilled in me knowledge in a variety of fields from film to philosophy, and as a requirement of modern education made me more than just fluent in the language of computers. I'm a would-be author, and a writer of short stories, and have won an honorable mention in a few poetry contests. In college I was frequently asked by friends in less liberal majors for help in writing papers and getting ideas across, because while a Biology major dreads the 25 page research paper, the English major just shrugs and says "I just wrote like, three of those yesterday." So I hope now I can help you get better grades or appreciably improve your standards of writing. My comments on tutoring Reading : I teach Reading with a 100% success rate by using phonics.

I give the students a skills assessment to identify which concepts they need assistance with. I help the students improve their grades at school by working with them on those concepts in addition to helping them with the concepts they are currently working on in school.
