As a current student at Central Michigan, I continue to strive for the best education I can possibly achieve. I have clepped out or aced all english classes at the college level and have found a great interest in writing and reading papers and essays. I am extremely familiar with both APA and MLA writing styles and have had numerous hours and years of practice writing papers and essays for my college level courses. I received a 1 on my MEAP writing and a 30 on my ACT writing/English section.
Al though I have never technically tutored or taught a child writing, I am interested in helping aid a child's learning experience. I am extremely personable and social, and would get along great with any child. I am patient, understanding and eager to provide my extensive knowledge of writing to those that need help.

A Little Bit About Me...

I typically try to match my teaching style to meet the needs of the particular student(s). I am familiar with many different approaches to teach literacy and math, including some exposure to occupational therapy, emotionally impaired, and LD appoaches to meet certain needs of some students. I enjoy children and helping them reach their potential.
As a Title I Para Educator I am responsible for working with students who need extra support in core academic areas. I teach K-4 students in a small group or classroom setting and on an individual basis. I currently have a case load of about 25 students that I see twice a day. I am responsible for planning my own lessons and corresponding with the classroom teachers to best meet the needs of the students. Additionally I participate in Child Study and ongoing Professional Development meetings.

I create a positive atmosphere and help students to be responsible first to themselves and then to their community. I also try to make my students aware of their potiential and guide them in processing information by first understanding the context in which it is used. Then I like to use visuals in my teaching style. I prefer to start with testing of some kind to assess the developmental level of the student.
My teaching experience began with my work with troubled youth in Michigan. I worked with the Fine Arts Team using the arts to teach visually. I also used positive Peer Culture for helping students to deal with their problems. I slso taught history at the school. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that all children learn differently and that all children should be given a chance to learn in ways that suit them most. I believe in helping students achieve their personal best. I am dedicated to assisting students in achieving their academic goals and I try my hardest to be a good role model to every student I encounter.
I have my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from a private, Catholic university. My time there taught me to be not only determined in what I do, but also ethical. During my college years, I spent a year tutoring students in English and Psychology courses. I am open to working with any level of student in English/Reading/Grammar/Literature and with high school and college level Psychology students.
