I have had a variety of work experiences in the past ranging from resident assistant, teacher, counselor, and multicultural tutor. These experiences have lead to the building of invaluable skills such as organization, prioritizing, adapting quickly to challenges and changing environments, and strong self-management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills were needed to succeed in each of these endeavors as well. I believe that all children learn differently, and if each child identifies the way they learn most effectively, they will be much more successful in their studies. I think it is important to have purposeful learning- give children a real-life understanding of the information they're learning so that it will stay with them in the future. Every kid is different in their own special way. You need different tactics per different kid. Being that I am patient and caring I know that it wouldn't take long for them to get comfortable with me and have me assist them. I believe that every good deed should be rewarded and if the student is doing well he shall be treated so, with a possible treat or even a pat on the back. I feel that if a child is told what they are doing right rather than what they are doing wrong they are more likely to have a positive outlook on what task they are trying to accomplish.
As a young college student I understand that my experience doesn't compare to those with degrees and much time doing it.
