I took tap lessons for 10 years and have continued tapping since I stopped taking lessons. I do not have a definitive teaching style. When teaching someone, I usually try to adapt to their learning style, and if they do not have a strategy that works, I help them develop a good learning style and get comfortable with it. I like to think I make learning difficult things more fun and approachable. I absolutely love performing and any aspect of theatre. I love learning and growing in my theatre knowledge and experiences. I have been performing in some way my whole world and love to share my passion with others. I also love English and Shakespeare; obviously these both go hand in hand with theatre!

As a recent college graduate, I feel that I have received the formal training necessary to become a teacher. I have obtained a BS in Early Childhood Education. Over the past two years I have also spent time tutoring elementary school children in the subject of reading, and also spent about 3 months working one on one with various students in a nearby school district. I believe that all children should receive the extra help that they need. Often time in the classroom, a teacher does not have the time to give the support of the needs of each student in the classroom. Teachers and tutors should try their best to make sure they focus on individual needs of the students so that they can help them succeed.

As a graduate of a liberal arts university, I have a very diverse level of education. I earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education and I am certified to teach in Ohio. After college I substitute taught for a year in elementary schools and had various types of learners including special needs students. After that, I was a teacher assistant and pulled out children to help them with their reading and math skills. I have also tutored children in grades 3-5 in all subjects for the past couple of years. I love children and working with them. I believe that all children can learn given the appropriate learning environment and opportunities.
