Based on my own experience as a student and as a teacher, I feel confident when I say that what matters is not really the amount of knowledge you have but your capacity to transmit the knowledge on the given subject. Therefore, I count patience and adaptation as the most important qualities for tutoring. If you are not capable to transmit your knowledge, then there is no point on teaching! In addition, most students lack self-confidence, so I do my best to rebuild that confidence within themselves by showing them that they are capable of doing it.
