I start by asking the students to tell me exactly what is it that they not understand and start from there. I then like to work backwards from that point to find where they got lost. I also use everyday concepts to give similiar scenarios to get them on the right track. I find pleasure in seeing their faces light up once they come to understand the subject matter. I enjoy teaching and working in the clinical practice performing laboratory tests and analyzing the results. I am enthralled with structures and functions of organisms and continuously intrigued with revelations of newly discovered mechanisms. My teaching style with younger children is to have a relaxed setting where no pressure in placed upon the student. I'm always sure to review my material before going into a new lecture. When a student is not understanding the material I try to use many methods for then to gain a better understanding. When I was younger it was easier for me to understand information if I can relate it to my life, so I will apply the same methods with teaching others. As a college student I am still striving for my goal and dream of becoming a veterinarian. I have always been a mentor in my community and willing to help others where they need help. My favorite subjects throughout grade school include math and science, in which I have excelled in both by being placed in honor level classes throughout high school. I have tutored many students in math, science and elementary level reading.

I have taught two years of middle school and home schooled my daughter. I have worked as a substitute teacher on and off for several years. My emphasis in college was English and Math so I feel very comfortable teaching either of these subjects as well as reading. My teaching style is flexible. Students learn in different ways and at different paces. It is my job to discover how the students learn and what they respond best to. For some subjects, repetition is very important and for others a clearer understanding of the concepts involved is more valuable. I like to start with small skills and build on them.
