My teaching career has been devoted to helping individual students achieve their potential. I have taught struggling students at all grade levels. As a reading teacher, I diagnosed each student’s strengths and weaknesses. I then tailored instruction to meet each student’s needs. I have also been a Learning Disabilities teacher in a small community. This gave me the experience of teaching a wide variety of subjects to students in elementary through high school. My teaching experience includes teaching English to students who came to school speaking another language. I have many years of tutoring experience which includes teaching young children, teenagers, and adults in the areas of reading, math, and English as a second language. I first make learning fun and exciting. As in past experience each child learns diffently and I need to be able to adapt to this. I first see what the level of the child is then work on the next step and help make sure the new level is learned as well as the old level is still maintained.
