Meeting the needs of all Learners!

My name is Amanda Ryan. I graduated in 2010 from Arcadia University with a Bachelors in Education. I am elementary k-6 and special ed k-12 certified. I have experience as a Learning Support Teacher and Emotional Support teacher in the School District of Philadelphia. I am currently a multiple disability teacher for grades 3-5. I work with children who are medically fragile, intellectually disabled and have severe orthopedic impairments. I absolutely love what I do and I live to teach. Through my experience working with children who are non-verbal, I have learned many practices and strategies in order to meet the needs of the most diverse learners. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that all children are capable of learning; however it is important to remember that children have various learning styles. Some children may be auditory, textile or visual learners. My approach to teaching is a hands-on style where students can learn material through experience and discovery. My goal is to provide students with a good education while giving them strategies for learning and studying. I believe that if students are not understanding a certain subject, it is important to change the style of teaching to better suit the child.
