Hi! My name is Morgan Pitman and I am senior at Anderson University majoring in Elementary Education. I also have a certification in learning disabilities and have had previous experience tutoring various grade levels (especially 5th grade math and 1st grade reading). I have also spent a significant amount of time observing and assisting in elementary classrooms (grades 1-5). Last year I completed an individual math research project with one of my professors that focused on teaching math to students with learning disabilities. I believe that learning should be fun. As a teacher, I work to create fun and interesting learning experiences that span a variety of learning styles. Such activities facilitate the maximum amount of learning for all students. Then we work together to practice the newly acquired skills to enable transfer and application.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology at Colgate University. Later, I attended Penn State University where I studied elementary education and earned my teacher’s certification after taking classes, interning, and student teaching.
