The variety of my experience gives me a wonderfully personal approach to each student. I have taught Sunday School to all ages of elementary students and have also helped young children appreciate the wonder of learning as I taught them kindergarten basics. I have taught English as a foreign language to adults and children in both group and individual settings. I have also worked with a nonprofit organization to teach and mentor adult volunteers, equipping them for peer counseling. I graduated as valedictorian in high school and as summa cum laude in college; learning makes sense to me. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with children, however, I don't feel I have one teaching style. I like to be able to adapt to how the children learn the best. My favorite teaching style is hands on activities such as experiments and crafts. I take pride in my creativity.
I have earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University in history. I currently am enrolled at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to obtain a Masters Degree in Education with a license to teach in the state of Tennessee in the middle grades. I have worked as a nanny during undergraduate for a couple different families. I have also worked through the YMCA as an after school teacher where I helped students K-6 with their homework. After graduating with a BA is History, I have worked as a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher, a Kindergarten Substitute Teacher, and an after school teacher for children 4 years through kindergarten.

A Little Bit About Me...

During my years as an undergraduate English major, I was drawn to the world of teaching and tutoring through two part-time positions, including one on-campus, with college-aged students, and one with elementary to high school-aged students. I loved seeing my students' pleasure at learning how to comprehend the words they read, to assimilate that information into an in-depth college essay, to finally grasp that one bit of knowledge that so alluded them. I taught students with learning and behavioral disabilities, and was good at my job (and loved it). During the last seven years, I have tutored students in writing, English literature, reading, reading comprehension, psychology, the arts, anthropology, and study skills. I have taught all subject areas to middle school students, grades 6-8, and taught English literature and writing to 9th and 11th graders.
