My comments on tutoring Painting : Skilled in watercolor, acrylic, and oil paints.

As an art educator, I was required to master many different mediums. I have practiced drawing, painting, two- and three-dimentional design, Photoshop, printmaking, jewelry-making, and photography. My emphasis is pottery. I can handbuild and work on the potter's wheel. I create excellently-crafted functional pieces. Few things bring me more pleasure than baking in something I have made with my own hands. I have experience teaching all ages of children and adults alike, and can adjust my teaching style to whatever is appropriate for my students. I am patient, understanding, and eager to see my students succeed.
I am a visual learner, which is necessary in the art field. I never fully understand a new method or technique without seeing it and trying it with my own hands first. When teaching, I verbally explain the process and visually explain it (with examples or demonstrations), then ... read more

After having children, I transitioned to tutoring students, some with special needs including, dyslexia, auditory processing, traumatic brain injury, ADHD, and others. For the last 4 years, I have been a Reading Resource teacher, working with students in phonemic awareness, fluency, and comprehension. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in inspiring children to be intrinsically motivated to learn. By learning who a child is we, in turn, learn how to teach them. As a preschool teacher I am patient, encouraging, and motivated. My motto is "if at first you don't succeed try again" and it goes not only for the student but also for the teacher. I try to bring in as many outside experiences as possible to help children form connections to what they're learning in school, and the real world. As cliché as it sounds children are the only future we have and we can give them the incredible gift of knowledge and the confidence that they really can do anything.
I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BA in English Literature. Through my coursework at UT I polished both my analytical and writing skills, while concurrently gaining comprehensive knowledge of the canonical literature that is taught in s ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy seeing children learn new things. I know that every child learns differently. It is important to get to know the children that you are teaching and figure out what teaching technique fits there needs. I feel like I do an excellent job of portraying what I am trying to teach.
I have always loved children. Children are precious and all have very unique learning techniques. When I was a senior at Maryville High School, I taught Spanish to first graders. My partner and I were in charge of making lesson plans and fulfilling these plans for each class. I really enjoyed seeing the children get excited about learning.
