I am easy to get along with, and like to help people learn and understand what is being taught. Tutoring Advantage was founded by Joan Robertson in 2006. Joan is a licensed teacher, trained in the Orton-Gillingham method and specializes in Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and learning disabilities. Joan attended Bemidji State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a math emphasis in November 1992. In May of 1992 she completed her kindergarten student teaching and kindergarten intercultural course work at Vaxjo University in Sweden. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in a teaching style that reflects a student's learning style. Whether they learn best by hearing, seeing, or doing it is important to cater to the student. My teaching style works around this philosphy and tends to be a combination of all 3 styles.
Although I have recently graduated with a degree in business, I am interested in pursuing a career involving people. My previous employment was a sales position that was very customer-oriented. I also have 3 years of experience helping children by teaching swimming lessons. Assisting my 15-year-old sister with her school work is also a regular activity.
